Collage is the perfect medium for the summer- free flowing and unconstrained. I was able to move in and out of the studio and work among the little and big starts and stops that come with motherhood and summer.

I’ve always loved the playfulness that naturally happens with collage, and I especially enjoy how it forces me to work in stages- painting paper, cutting shapes, and playing with compositions. I can experiment with the shapes and compositions over several days before gluing anything down.

Creating these has freed my spirit and has been a reprieve from not only the summer heat but the heaviness of the world's happenings.

I hope these painted collage works bring beauty, creativity, and love into your homes!
