paintings
Kate’s translucent layers of paint form large, intimate interior scapes and small still lifes that radiate effortless charm and a free spirit. Known for her thoughtfully choreographed and colorful interiors, her paintings are windows into another world.

Her subjects vary in size and content from the large, airy bedroom interior with chandelier to the tiny still life of a settee with a child’s toy. Drawn to thoughtful design and beautifully constructed rooms, Kate devours decorating blogs and magazines to gather imagery for her paintings.

Using acrylic and watercolor gives Kate the freedom to use water generously in her work and create delicate layers. This media also allows her to work without reserve in an open studio/playroom where she has her two young children nearby.

Influenced by her husband, children, and by rehabbing and decorating their Victorian home, Kate creates warm, inviting, energizing and peaceful paintings. Life at home is at the center of her work.
