This is a one-of-a-kind, original watercolor sketch on 5 × 7-inch paper with deckled edges.
This month’s Morning Find sketches are inspired largely by the spaces and details around my home—garden flowers, favorite chairs and books, open windows, and glimpses of the landscape beyond. I found myself returning to familiar things and looking at them with fresh eyes, noticing the colors, patterns, and small moments that can make an everyday space feel special.
My Morning Find practice is rooted in slowing down and noticing the beauty in ordinary moments. I create a small watercolor most mornings as a gentle way to enter my studio, allowing these observations to become the starting point for larger paintings and new ideas. Several of this month’s sketches also inspired the three larger 22 × 30-inch watercolors in this collection.
Each sketch is an original watercolor, initialed on the front and signed and dated on the back.
