The Path Beyond grew out of my smaller Morning Find Sketches and my ongoing interest in the places that stay with us—gardens wandered through, landscapes remembered, and quiet moments spent looking toward what lies beyond.
Here, an intimate terrace opens onto a winding garden path and distant green hills. A pitcher of tea, a bowl of lemons, potted flowers, and a blue chair create the feeling of a quiet afternoon outdoors, while the path draws the eye into the landscape beyond. I love the sense of being both settled and curious in this painting: enjoying where you are while wondering where the path might lead.
This is a one-of-a-kind, original watercolor on 22 × 30-inch paper with deckled edges. It is signed on the front and signed and dated on the back.
