Where the Garden Begins grew out of my smaller Morning Find Sketches and my love of the place where interiors and gardens meet. An open blue window frames a lush landscape beyond, while a pitcher overflowing with flowers and a bowl of lemons bring the garden's color and abundance inside.
I’m drawn to windows and open passages as a way of connecting two worlds—the intimate, familiar space of home and the possibility of what lies beyond it. In this painting, it feels as though the garden has begun to spill through the window and into the room, blurring the boundary between inside and out.
This is a one-of-a-kind, original watercolor on 22 × 30-inch paper with deckled edges. It is signed on the front and signed and dated on the back.
